Village Life

Bettisfield is a village of approximately 160 dwellings in the Wrexham County Borough, Wales and stands on the Welsh English Border, and in the community of Maelor South. It lies south of the Llangollen Canal on the border with Shropshire, England within the historic English Maelor region.
The Housing types are mainly detached properties, occuppied by couples or small families, and the majority of residents are over the age of 50, with a large number of retired couples living in the village.
The village no longer has a shop, pub, post office, school, bus service or Doctors surgery.
However, this village remains a lively community with an active Village Hall Committee promoting workshops and events, a beautiful Pilgrim Church open daily, Methodist Chapel services, Walking Groups, Book Clubs, a mobile library and a good old fashioned attitude towards neighbours.
